Baptist Church

Corey & Gretchen started going with Corey's co-worker, Doug, to their church. They go to a Baptist Church. It's only 3 minutes from our house, which is nice. We really like it. The Pastor has good sermons. We like the worship too. They also have Sunday School that we go to. It seems like it might be a good opportunity for both of us to serve. They could definitely use another singer on the worship team (they only have one right now) and probably even a pianist. For Sunday School, it might be a good opportunity for Corey to teach. Plus, they have things for the children which is obviously becoming more and more important.

Corey was so sweet to Gretchen last week. He took Zach out, for a Father/ Son day, and while he was out he got a surprise ready for Gretchen. When he got home, Gretchen went to the store and when she got back Corey took her on a scavenger hunt. First, he emailed her and put, "I am the vine, you are the branches". That took her to the bathroom (b/c that's our theme) where she found a piece of paper that read, "Roses are red, Violets are blue, I bet you love When I cook on this for you!" That took her to the grill where she found another piece of paper that said, "Diving is fun, except for the sharks! I hope there isn't any in the house!!" That took her to the stuffed shark in Zach's room where there was a piece of paper in the shark's mouth that read, "1st heaven, 2nd heaven, 3rd heaven, 4th heaven, 5th heaven, 6th heaven......". That took her to the DVD's where we have the "7th Heaven" series. There was another piece of paper that said, "Your figuring out all my clues! I just can't SCAN it!" Well, we have a printer/ copier/ scanner. So, she opened the lid to the scanner where a piece of paper read, "I didn't know that a honey bunny was this clever. I just can't ever scare you away... good thing your not a fish, I always scare them.... HMMMMM?" That took her to Corey's spear guns (for diving) where there was a romantic card with a JCPenney gift card inside. Inside the card HE wrote, "Thank you so much for being you. Your hard work, dedication, and loving touch do not go unnoticed nor unappreciated. We wouldn't be a family without you! We love you!...... Corey & Zach" Isn't he sweet???

This game sounds familiar. I wonder if Corey had similar experiences finding the Easter baskets when he was small.
