Zach's Preschool

We took Zach to this place called the "House of Bounce" today. It was really fun. It's $5 for the kids and the adults are free. They have these HUGE inflatable slides and mazes. Zach had a blast and of course Corey did too. We may end up going there for his birthday. The lady had us pay on our way out. While Corey was paying, we were talking to her about finding a preschool for Zach. This other customer was there paying for her child for after-school care. She works for this Baptist Church that has a preschool. So, we ended up going to the church. We were able to look through the curriculum that they used, which is Christian based. They have Chapel time, crafts, singing, and recreation. They make sure that the kids measure up to the state standards academically. He'll go 3 days a week in the morning. Gretchen is really excited. Corey is excited but kind of sad because he doesn't want Zach growing up too fast.

Gretchen's parents are coming down to visit for Zach's birthday! We're really looking forward to their visit. Gretchen just needs to make sure the house is clean!!

We have found a church that we really like and it's only 3 minutes from our house. It's a Baptist church. Our friends, Doug and Leslie and their kids, go there. Leslie is the youth leader and Gretchen will probably be helping her. Gretchen would also like to get involved with the praise team fairly soon. Corey is interested in teaching a class. However, he also wants to go to college to pursue a religious studies degree online. So, we'll see what happens.

The Park!

Yesterday, Corey had Bible Study in the morning. Then, we went out to eat for lunch. While we were out, we took Zach to a park. He loved it. It was a lot of fun for us too. We had a lot of fun. Then we piled back in the truck and came back home. Zach took a nap. Corey played his video game while Gretchen did some more scrapbooking. Then, we did some reading in the Bible. We are reading through the new testament together. We have Bible commentaries to read along with the Chapters so that we can get more out of it.

Today, we stayed home all day. Gretchen fixed breakfast, like she does every morning. Then, Corey played tractors and cars with Zach again. Gretchen had gotten some "Color Wonders" stuff at Walmart on clearance. So, she got that out and had him color on that along with some regular crayons and markers. While Zach was doing that, Gretchen and Corey read some more in the Bible. We read Mark 1-3. We finished Matthew yesterday.

Gretchen fixed lunch, like she always does, and then put Zach down for a nap. Corey and Gretchen also took a nap but Gretchen woke up early so that she could fix dinner.

Baptist Church

Corey & Gretchen started going with Corey's co-worker, Doug, to their church. They go to a Baptist Church. It's only 3 minutes from our house, which is nice. We really like it. The Pastor has good sermons. We like the worship too. They also have Sunday School that we go to. It seems like it might be a good opportunity for both of us to serve. They could definitely use another singer on the worship team (they only have one right now) and probably even a pianist. For Sunday School, it might be a good opportunity for Corey to teach. Plus, they have things for the children which is obviously becoming more and more important.

Corey was so sweet to Gretchen last week. He took Zach out, for a Father/ Son day, and while he was out he got a surprise ready for Gretchen. When he got home, Gretchen went to the store and when she got back Corey took her on a scavenger hunt. First, he emailed her and put, "I am the vine, you are the branches". That took her to the bathroom (b/c that's our theme) where she found a piece of paper that read, "Roses are red, Violets are blue, I bet you love When I cook on this for you!" That took her to the grill where she found another piece of paper that said, "Diving is fun, except for the sharks! I hope there isn't any in the house!!" That took her to the stuffed shark in Zach's room where there was a piece of paper in the shark's mouth that read, "1st heaven, 2nd heaven, 3rd heaven, 4th heaven, 5th heaven, 6th heaven......". That took her to the DVD's where we have the "7th Heaven" series. There was another piece of paper that said, "Your figuring out all my clues! I just can't SCAN it!" Well, we have a printer/ copier/ scanner. So, she opened the lid to the scanner where a piece of paper read, "I didn't know that a honey bunny was this clever. I just can't ever scare you away... good thing your not a fish, I always scare them.... HMMMMM?" That took her to Corey's spear guns (for diving) where there was a romantic card with a JCPenney gift card inside. Inside the card HE wrote, "Thank you so much for being you. Your hard work, dedication, and loving touch do not go unnoticed nor unappreciated. We wouldn't be a family without you! We love you!...... Corey & Zach" Isn't he sweet???
